Heretoir live at Christuskirche Bochum – concert photos

As a concert photographer, I documented Heretoir's performance at Christuskirche Bochum with my camera. They opened the evening as support for “Der Weg einer Freiheit” and created a dense, emotional atmosphere with their music that perfectly suited the sacred space of the church. From the very first note, it was clear that this was no ordinary opening act – the combination of heavy guitars, melancholic melodies, and haunting vocals immediately captivated the audience.

Heretoir is a German melodic post-metal band that was founded in 2006. Their music moves between hardness and fragility, between aggression and melancholy. Their lyrics and soundscapes often deal with self-discovery, loss, and life itself. It is precisely this emotional depth that makes Heretoir so special live: every song is an experience that gets under your skin.

The interplay of light and sound was extraordinary that evening. The stage was bathed in soft blue and warm red—colors that perfectly matched the emotional music. Particularly impressive was how the calm, dreamy passages alternated with energetic outbursts.

Heretoir have shown that they are much more than just a support act. They manage to transform complex feelings into sound and images – an experience that remains palpable not only on stage, but also through the lens.
